Why do c*tholics try so hard to prove they're Christian, when it's all just paganism in all but name?

It has a lot to do with Middle Eastern paganism that took idols extremely seriously, more than European paganism at least. And when Judaism went from henotheism to monotheism, it influenced Christian and Muslim thought concerning idols.
