Shitty meme. The Austrians gave majority control of their forces to Germans after the first year or so and were the majority of troops on the Eastern Front while holding the Italian Front more or less on their own. The Ottomans and Bulgarians frequently sabotaged their own goals to help Germany.

Ludendorff's shitty offensive depleted whatever strength the German army had remaining. Whether or not the Germans had a chance of winning in 1917 is debatable - I'd argue it was slim but as the guy in charge he has to bear the responsibility of the defeat.

His conduct after the war was reprehensible.
