Democracy will never create a moral society. Democracy is the manifestation of psychological egoism. It is abused by the moral relativists of both sides who believes the ends justify the means; those who will do whatever it takes to achieve the outcomes they desire. Authoritarians strive for liberty for themselves but once they secure this they begin infringing on the liberty of the other. The Left shouts for personal social freedoms yet they actively seek to infringe economic freedoms. The Right shouts for economic freedoms yet they actively seek to infringe on social freedoms. At the outset of a democratic system, democracy gives the illusion that it is a just system that is increasing the personal liberty of all but this facade only lasts so long. The 51% will always vote to enslave the 49%. The masses possess no virtue. Their conscious is not burdened by their hypocrisy. They deny morality in favor of post-modern consequentialism. They'll lie and tell you they believe in a certain ideology but all they truly strive for is their own self-desire. The natural law will never be upheld unless the natural aristocracy is to reign. Libertarians are the natural monarchs of the world.
