Philosophy is oftend dubbed a humanity. However, it seems like it's only appropraite to apply this to Continental Philosophy and not Analytic Philosophy. Even many Analytic philosophers get a bit butt hurt when you say philosophy is a humanity. It is true that the analytic style is much closer to that of the formal sciences. Analytic philosophers basically invented mathematical logic. Their whole way of arguing too is just much closer to what you'd see in the sciences. Philosophy is already extremely varied in its topics. Analytic Philosophy, however, seems like an entierly different subject than Continental Philosophy at times. What do you think?

Then they should go about fixing the humanities rather than fiddling with definitions in an attempt to circumvent reality. That sort of behavior much more suited to the humanities anyway, so by engaging in it they undermine their own argument.

Analytic philosophy is just a method.

So is science.
I think Philosophy overlaps with so many subjects, pretty much all subjects to say the least, that maybe it should be classified as its own range of disciplines in between those of the sciences and humanities. Pretty much all disciplines today owe their origins to philosophy anyway and you can find philosophy in all of them due to this.

Meh it is a wild overstatement to say they invented mathematical logic. Yes they did add valuable concepts, but in general they are stuck in dumb ass discussions over definitions of word, not realizing language is an inherently flawed concept. Honestly, I think with Wittgenstein, analytical philosophy should have been over.

Frege and Russell created first order logic and it was applied to set theory. Their contributions to logic begin at the most fundamental level.

continental philosophy is ot philosophy its just thinly veiled anthropology and sociology, they don't try to create logical system they just """analyze""" irl phenomenons
people confuse analytic philosophy as being contradictory to continental philosophy, usually due to a severe lack of education.
analytic philosophy is a tool for eliminating contradictory propositions and discerning between objectivity/subjectivity, things that are true/false, etc. whereas continental philosophy is a wide series of approaches to handling the phenomenon of existence from the first-person perspective.
phenomenological reasoning is an example of continental philosophy that is reinforced by analytic method.
