Nah, I think the Republic era was better though. After Marius and Sulla's bitch fit, someone taking power was inevitable. Caesar was just the luckiest, ballsiest, charismatic-est one of the bunch. I give him props for that.

There is no reason to hate or idolize Caesar, his career is nothing more than the progression of social forces pushing Rome forward.

Caesar is my favorite historical figure, and a personal hero, yet I'm more of a fan of Republican Rome than I am Imperial Rome.
