It's also worth noting that science only explains phenomenon by abstracting it. The models that scientists use are not reality, they are rough approximations. Why is this a problem? Everything any has ever done, or will do comes from assumption. Besides, positivism is hardly assumption. When something becomes positive, it stops being an 'assumption' and becomes knowledge.
