Why does pic related exist?
I'm reading about the fall of the Western Roman Empire, and the start of the end really seems to be when some Goths start tearing shit up, starting with the loss at Adrianople in 378.
Anyway, the migration of Goths throughout the west changed the culture and language of what is now Northern Italy, France, and Iberia. But why is Romania still speaking Latin today? How did the language persist despite being on the fringes of the Empire and in the face of invading forces to the north and east? And how as it done so in a way where the Spezia-Rimini line implies it was affected by changes more in line with Central-Southern Italy than any other latin-speaking area?
There was a continuum of Latin based languages in the Balkans Romanian does not exist in a vacuum. The Dalmatian coast for example utilized Dalmatian until the late 19th century.

IIRC they are basically some leftover Dacians who got latinized, then slavized, then latinized again.
The Invasion of goths is an invention.
>And this... Is... to go... even further beyond! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHRGHHHHHAAAHH!
