People living contemporary to Roosevelt seem to at the very least have a grudging respect for the man. Post-war politics just got more and more polarising and bitter. The log cabin presidents are long, long gone. The very best you can hope for is some middle class dickrider with a shiny suit

Seriously though, Clinton and Obama weren't necessarilly well off at birth, but definitely not dirt-poor. Then, they let the progressive movements down. (not entirely their fault - they had to deal with Republican led Congresses and Dems too afraid to lose their seat in the next election by voting for Liberal policies)
