Lots of evidence of North African influences in the isles, coins and place names.
Thanet for instance was the name of where Kent is in England. I think the word Thames is derived from it.

A lot of the explanations the guy gives to english speakers would be redundant or even completely unnecessary for any other language that comes to my mind right now.
This makes me think it must be really hard for english native speakers to learn foreign languages, in a way that cannot be compared to other peoples since it's not related to weird grammar or vocabulary.

Thats just for the pronunciation though. English speakers can still learn to read and write a language well.
