Were there black legionaries and auxiliaries?
North Africans, yes
"Black" is too vague
Probably from southern Egypt, and maybe some hired Nubians.
auxiliaries definitely. I'm confident in saying at one point there was at least one black legionaire in the empire.

Probably; the desert nomads of the Sahara and the Nubians were known to the Romans. It's not inconceivable that a few would end up on the coasts and become Romans.
As long as they earned roman citizenship and filled the height requirements they would probably be allowed in the legion. I'm sure there were black auxilliaries at some point too because there's no reason to not want someone else to die instead of your "real" soldiers just because they're black.
Yes, the Romans handed out citizenship like candy. Due to how they deployed their legions, they would have also been deployed in far off frontiers from their homes like Britain and Germania.

Certainly Nubians did, if you consider them black. Actual sub-Saharan Africans would have been extremely rare, but I'm sure a couple ended up serving in a legion somewhere.

Among Egyptian, Libyan, Numidian, and other north African populations there were "black" people, as well as more obvious and significant Nubian, Aethiopian, Nasamones, Garamantes, etc. The Romans drew both legionaires and auxiliries (mostly the latter) from these populations.
