Why isn't Polk more highly regarded? I mean it seems like he accomplished a lot in terms of expanding the US and all within a single term before resigning.
>started a war with Mexico because he was bored
Granted, that's what our current administration is doing but still.
Basically the sketchy methods he used to get all that territory. Also I'd say the average person probably can't name any of the presidents between Jefferson and Lincoln anyway.
Personally, I think Polk is fucking awesome.

Literally everyone who knows about Polk rates him highly.

>The average person hasn't heard of Andrew Jackson
Mullet makes him unappealing on an instictual level.

Beats me. I forget the details but I remember being really impressed with him back in history because he's like the only president that fulfilled his campaign promises. His points were like:
1.get mexico
2. get oregon
3. make federal reserve
Or something and he did all of it, and then he died. What a fucking guy, and to think we'd have like a million extra square kilometers of third world shit hole today if it weren't for him. Granted, starting wars like that isn't ethically right, but the result in the future is satisfactory, I probably would have disliked him if I were alive during his presidency though since it was hard to tell was a shithole Mexico was gonna become.
