Is the key to happiness really just not to think too much?

the key to happiness is stability
but what in life is actually stable?

The key to happiness is lack of pain, stress, responsibility, deadlines, loss, and such.
You will find things to do, have fun, enjoy yourself, build and create, and work and rest, and companionship and friendship, if left alone.

But you will lose civilization doing that. Which is fine, if happiness is your main concern. Civilization is the enemy of happiness.

Depends on the subject.
Also its best for people if they haw to struggle a bit for their goals when things get too easy there is no satisfaction and when thibgs get too hard there again is not satisfaction and so no happiness.
