Hi /his/,

I'm interested in learning about spain and italy during the first half of the 20th century. specifically, i'm interested in the political, economic, and cultural changes, as well as military history.

What's a good place to start? Once I'm started, where should I look for a deep dive? Documentaries, books, internet articles, screencaps, etc are all fine.

Sounds like a story tailor-made for me. Lost my job, declining savings, probably die by the end of the year.

Until then, I'd like to learn more about this world and how we got here. Any good sources on italy in particular?

Shortly before the Ist International Giuseppe Fanelli toured Spain, introducing anarchism and securing it's supremacy over communism for decades.

When Civil War started communism had little importance and small membership, with anarchism widely surpassing it. But the Republic need money and materials and Soviet Union was willing to give it, spanish communism growing big in numbers as result of such support.

Communists decided to assert their domain over the anarchists during the May Events, achieving their objectives and establishing themselves as main ideological power among the left
