Frederick the Great
>Made an eastern european shithole into a great power
>defeated the primary german power at the time with a population of 2 million
>fought off France, Austria, and Russia with only the eternal anglo as an ally
>secular, enlightened based dude who modernized Prussia
But he lost

This is the meme version of the 7 years war. Frederick was saved by luck.
>Queen of Russia dies and a fanboy of Frederick takes throne and pulls out of war
>France gets bogged down helping Spain against Portugal
>Austria is Austria and can't beat Prussia alone
>Austria and France are tired and basically just think 'Fuck it' and let Prussia have Silesia
Frederick is a fucking meme.

I understand that luck played a large role in the outcome of the war, but what I find fascinating is how Frederick held on for years against all odds with a tiny population and wimpy economic infrastructure. Besides, you can't deny that without him, fucking Hanover or Saxony would've been the strongest power in northern germany.

Austrian and Russian incompetence. Federick couldn't believe it either.

Prussia also took major losses throughout the war and were basically shocked back into life from Britain pouring money into them.
Frederick was a fantastic general nonetheless.

Not sure if you can call that "incompetence," that's just plain autism.
