Hi, is anyone good with symbolism? My grandfather brought this dagger with him from Egypt on his way home from WWII. I think that it's either Turkish or Persian but I'm not sure. Any ideas?
The reverse side has what appears to be a lion hunting a doe
I believe it is made out of brass and has a bone handle.

If its actually from that time period I doubt its tourist shit. A lot of these are carried around on a sash traditionally as part of attire. Most people would never use it .

It's tourist garbage.
It's OLD tourist garbage, but that doesn't mean it's valuable or noteworthy.
It is a family memory, though, and that's what makes it important.

definitely crafted to sell to tourists.

Looks like a Sihk's kirpan, but with some Persian/Iranian influence.
Looks like Khanjar to me.
