because during white rule the government was spending a massively outsized portion of the GDP on the white population, while the rest got scraps. After the end of white rule this was changed to be more in line with the demographic realities so the people who had been the beneficiaries of inequality suffered for it.

Whenever a country takes on a large group of new poor people the standard of living goes down for everyone, the same thing happened in west germany after the reunification, and if the koreas ever reunite there would no doubt be tremendous pain in south korea.

There are several tribes which are loyal to each other. Dutch South Africans and British may have animosity, but they got along well enough to not murder each other constantly, had home countries to work alongside and higher levels of technological advances.

African people are usually loyal to their tribe not some created national identity the way someone from Aberdeen and Canterbury can both identify as British beyond their regional differences.
