I'm surprised nobody's taken into account the fact that they may have not received the vaccine for smallpox, since it was discontinued in 1972, thus if you met any European colonists, you'd more than likely get smallpox within a few days and give them weapons grade influenza or other disease they haven't encountered yet, killing a good portion of either colonial America or Europe.

That being said, I'd wake up in a wooded area in the halfway point between Lake Michigan and present day Kalamazoo, which doesn't exist yet. The closest settlement for me would be Fort Detroit, currently occupied by the French. They would shoot me after I desperately try to communicate with zero French-speaking cappabilities, or die from the numerous natives in the area thinking I'm an Englishman here to steal their land.

The French party to establish Fort Detroit won't be arriving until sometime next year in 1701, and even then I don't speak a word of French. I'm in Freiburg, Germany, but I'm an English-speaker foreigner who's obviously not fluent in German. I'm visiting my betrothed's family. The 30 Years War has totally raped the area, leaving ravaged towns and plenty of mostly-empty homes. Technically this is a fortress town belonging to Austria, paranoid about another French, German or some other attack. Luckily I'm Catholic, and engaged to a local, so I'd be pretty safe I guess.

There was supposed to have been a Pottawatomie village about a mile north of where I live. I guess I would have no better choice to go there first and hope that they'll help me.

After that, follow the rivers down to the Mississippi, looking for the first French trading post I come across, I guess? I'm not certain how extensive French settlement was at that point. In any case, I would try to make my way to the American colonies, where I would know the language and culture well enough to get by.

My French is passable enough that I could probably just start work mapping the interior for the French, with the aim to switch sides to the Brits come 1713. With any luck, I could springboard the Hudson's Bay Company into an even greater success, convince the British to start farming some of the Prairies centuries earlier, and encourage literacy among the Natives so they stand a chance of some degree of self-determination.

If all goes well (it wouldn't) I die in the mid-1700s, having served a prosperous life as Governor of Western Canada.

Well if I'm gonna be standing exactly where I am, I'd be falling a few feet down into who knows what kind of swamp in central Florida. But if I do happen to live, I'd probably head to the coast. I know there were plenty of Indians, and in 1700 Spain attacks a settlement a straight line east of me, so it shouldn't be hard to find. From there head north to jamestown, find work, impress people with simple tricks, get married, and try to become one of first New Orleans aristocrats.
