>Americans, Germans, politicians, a defected SS officer and a tennis player fight off an SS division.
>prime movie/book material
>Literally no one talks about it
Am I missing something here? Surely I can't be the only one fascinated by this.
This is glorious, I wonder why it's unknown

What did the Nazi's have against tennis players?

Famous athlete, so he was a public figure. They wanted to keep him from speaking out against the Nazis and to use as a hostage.
Obligatory.

yeah, I read this and its pretty good.
its crazy because it wasnt even suppose to happen. Some yugoslavian peasent who was working there as a slave of the SS said he had to go into town to run some errands, but he really ran into some approaching americans who were on some other mission and tried to explain to them what was going on, so then one tank squad said "yeah ok we'll go check it out"
Also, they named their tank "besotten jenny" after the guys ex wife

Man, I expected shitty music, got good stuff instead.
Thanks.

it's cause Nazis were fighting on the same side as the good guys, and you can't let people think not all Nazis were evil.

Fuckin' cool.

>A single SS officer who defected
Sounds like a perfect character that they can have to join the good guys after seeing all the atrocities commited by the SS.
Would make a fuckin awesome movie

If nothing they can show the tennis player as the main character so the audience doesn't have to relate to the SS officer. He died from a sniper before the fight was over anyway.
