Change the name to the sack of New York, it's modern time and mongols are zombies. Also, change the ending so the good guys win (a team of Hollywood star super soldier, his sidekick proffesor and a women president that believed in their plan even though all of her stupid Generals didn't believe in it and stupidly wanted to use nuclear bombs).

What would even be the message? It's literally just a "rocks fall, everyone dies" kind of story, so it'd be meaningless.

The day of the dead 2004 was basically a "rocks fall, everyone dies" movie, apocalypses have happened before and this was among the most notable.

I don't think it could be an epic, maybe something more like apocalypto where you follow some people trapped in the chaos.

Baghdad in the 13th century was a shithole compared to its glory days. Large swathes of the city was abandoned, people were setting shit on fire, Shiites and Sunnis were killing each other (as always), and floods were destroying whatever was left.

It's like making a movie about South Detroit in its current state. The niggers band together around Suge Knight and Eminem, and Suge Knight tells Dre he should surrender, only to have all them get BTFO. The only people who survive would be the Jewish moguls and the few whites that live south of 8 Mile. It would be a horribly bleak film at best. And sort of racist when you show that it actually gets better under the whitey's rule.
