Russia was the primary reason Germany lost Europe. Churchill convinced America to fight in North Africa instead of putting more pressure on mainland Europe. While the Russians dealt with the bulk of German forces. Role of the allies in defeating Germany is often overstated granted the intensity and duration of Russian-German conflict throughout the war.
