Was it just a massive betrayal from the U.S?
>>2066909
Is it really betrayal if the guy you betray planned to throw you under the bus later?
Because that's the entire foreign policy plan of all MENA
>>2066909
The alternative was causing a massive backlash among developing countries by proving USSR propaganda right, they didn't have much of a choice.
>>2066909
Yes.
They wanted a weaker Britain, as a weaker Britain would not be able to oppose americas policies in the Cold War as well
>>2067013
Well then why did they let USSR propaganda be right about how most blacks wouldn't have equality in their lifetime
>the US is obligated to support the colonial adventures of their dipshit allies
>>2067015
Britain benefited a lot from the USA's policies though. It's empire was unsustainable, as was its role as a world power. Giving up most of its overseas possessions was the best thing that could have happened to it. Look at what happened to Portugal when it tried to hold on to its colonies.
>>2067022
That's the point, the US couldn't afford to lose face like that by being in the spotlight, so it needed to build goodwill to make up for its shortcomings.
>>2067026
>the US isn't obligated to keep their capitalist ally and its multiple captilalist states afloat during the Cold War
>Woah, thanks for the help faggots, but we got this from here. You're far too young to understand the world.
>Oh fuck, these natives are angry, oi fuck off back to the fields you Arab shits. Oh no! Ow! Stop! Help, America help!
>What the actual fuck America, thanks a lot for ruining our empires you selfish cunts
>>2066909
No. You reap what you sow.
>>2067035
>muh 1st world
As an argument wears on, this phrase is increasingly likely to be used by imperialists when they are losing the debate and want the working classes to fuck off to die in some jungle while burning villages
>>2067035
We aren't.
Shape up or fuck off.
anthony eden was betrayed by his drugged out mind
>>2067080
>wanting working class to die
You say it like that's a bad thing, if no 'working class' and just a middle and upper class exist and robots replace unskilled labourers then we'd see utopia and not hooliganism

Initial British plan was Israeli invasion and annexation of small slice of land. British-French troops were insuranse to keep channel British, and spread propaganda about "defend of Egypt against Jewish agression".
But US government forced Israel to abandon occupation zone (it was useless) and announce all claimed all fucken trinity as aggressors.
>>2067058
But the ground war was a resounding Anglo-French-Israeli success. None of the countries involved ever requested American help.
