It was written in Latin
Newton was an English man, not an Italian,
There is no way an Englishman would have knowledge of Latin at least to that extent

English is closely related to Latin, like half are words are the same in Latin.
>an educated Englishman wouldn't know the language that spent centuries being the standard tongue in academia at the time when it was still commonly used as such
His dad was from latin and actually helped him translate it.
>There is no way that a genius from this particular area in the world would have knowledge of Latin
>Certainly not when Latin was the international language of science

Weren't most such things written in Latin so the plebs wouldn't be able to read it?

Where are you getting the idea he wrote it in Latin, dumbass? I doubt Newton could actually write, almost everybody was illiterate before the 15th century. His texts were probably transmitted orally like Shakespeare's. You're looking at a later translation. Being smart didn't mean he could write back then.
I heard he woke up knowing Latin after a North African raiding party nerve gassed his village. It was like a severe side-effect and he couldn't form English sentences until he was hit in the head by a pigeon while out bicycling in old age. He was lucky he didn't died both times. Lucky, really, or we wouldn't have gravity.
