It stretched to places like south america, africa and the middle east, where wars became dichotomial in their funding.

Depending on what you consider as the start of the cold war and what you consider iseological genocide, you will see millions of casualties.

You could even claim the war started at the birth of the Soviets due to their mutual livid hatres with the United States that lurked under the surface in ww2 and costamerican airmen their lives to friendly fire.
