Greetings /his/, confused as to the cultural distinction between the ancient religion of Britain and that of ancient Ireland. Are some aspects of these cultures shared before the invasions of Rome? I always mistakenly attributed Boudica to an Irish background. What was ancient Irish culture and religion like, /his/?
Paganism is satanic.

Please keep your filthy desert religion out of this thread.
To be honest Irish culture remained pretty much the same for thousands of years.
The Island was spilt up between many different petty kingdoms. Some times there was a high king at Tara. Some times there were many high kings.
We have our own pantheon. It's similar to all other pagan pantheons.
If I recall correctly our Woden/Thor/Zeus is a guy called Dagaha. Spelling is probably wrong though. Eventually post fall of Rome Christian's came here. Made us all Christian. Took over pagan religious sites and made them Christian. Every year thousands of people climb crogh Patrick. A mountain where st Patrick the guy who made us catholic went to one time. Before him though people used to climb the mountain as well but it was a pilgrimage to dagha.
Anyways we became catholic. But nothing changed. Norman's came eventually but they becam "more Irish than the Irish themselves".
Apart from being conquered by England our only notable achievements was the creation of many religious artifacts and the successful missionaries we sent abroad. Basically we went for the cultural and religious victory. This continued up to modern times. See Yeats and Joyce and river dance and Gaelic football and hurling and all the missions abroad.
You know it's hard to symmetrise 3k yrs of history on 4chan. There's plenty of books about it.

Very interesting. I'm a second generation immigrant to America from Ireland and am a citizen there. My family is very 'Irish', though, certainly only in an Americanized reminiscent way, so this is very interesting to me. What is some good material on Irish paganism and traditionalism? I would love to learn more.
