My grandfather gave me a antique-looking knife a while ago and I'm having trouble figuring out the origin of it. And I was wondering if there are any experts that could figure out what region of the world it came from and what possible time period it came from.

Did he ever say anything else about it? What region of the world are you in/is he from?

The blade looks indian, but not kilt and design on the sheath is different. Was it refitted?

*Hilt

He lives in Poland and he purchased it from a private collector

Hilt design looks custom, nothing of any symbolic significance.

The blade doesn't look indian at all desu. It doesn't look like anything Asian so you might discard that region.
The hilt looks sort of childish in a way, no really intricate. My best guess would be either a custom made knife or something native american.

On second thought it doesn't look native american at all besides the design of the hilt.
