Ottomans may have held control a bit longer but I still see their empire collapsing without entering ww1, albeit later then when it did. It was always weakening and beginning to struggle by the 20th century.

The Ottoman Empire was already doomed by the late 19th Century. I mean, not only did they have a shitload of financial and economic problems, but the fucking nationalisms -including one for """""Turks"""""- was ripping the empire apart.

A lot of the Civil Reforms of the Ottoman Empire such as the attempt at a constitution, the espousing of "Ottomanism," and Emancipation were efforts to curtail nationalisms but they were too late.

Lets throw in foreign Colonial rivals trying to expand at the expense of the Ottomans. I bet oil wouldve driven the Ottomans off the Middle East by European powers even if WWI didn't happen.
