How does /his/ feel about this book?
It's a VERY general overview of world history, which is kind of inevitable when you try to cram 6000 years of human history on a 1000 pages.
It also has was I personally found to be a very annoying structure, in which the author picks a time frame (usually 50-150 years) and then starts jumping around it with no real direction. On the plus side, it's well written and not opiniated.
A rule of thumb about learning in general is that it's better to give yourself an in-depth understanding of a few topics than to have a very shallow and basic understanding of a lot of topics. This book and others like it are basically the antithesis of that.

In fact, now that you mention it, I'm pretty sure there's a brief line in the book that mention jews using Holocaust as a political device to justify claiming Israel
Recommendations for modern history guys?
