Why was the Red Army's uniform during World War Two a mustard yellow colour? I've also seen variations which were more brown. The U.S. uniform of the time makes sense, as does the German one, but a yellow colour looks like it might stand out against greenery or in urban areas.
Was it an appropriate choice, economic reasoning or otherwise?
... it's not mustard yellow?
now people perceive colors differently but it's closer to khaki if anything
then again this is just a retarded shitposting thread, isn't it

Firstly it's almost khaki, perhaps what you perceive as mustard are heavily worn and faded ones.
Secondly this was the optimal medium color to be used as a single color camoflage for the eastern european steppe flora and vegetation, during spring, summer, and fall
Thirdly the Red Army quickly began to transition into a darker green color for their field blouses/гимнacтёpкa by 43 to 45 in realization that a darker color would be more appropriate for urban fighting, along with the flora and vegetation of the new territories which it began to invade.
