How based was he?
Based? The man's claims were entirely baseless! I'll give him a 0! As in, you're a Zero!
My dear OP, I hesitate to rate Jung like that. I can honestly say that he is one of the most fascinating people I have read, along with Nietzsche. I first got introduced to Jung through Joseph Campbell when I first got heavy into mythology in my 20s. Jung seemed to open a door for me, and while a few of his ideas were in error or have since been improved upon, he has been a large influence in my life and I still consult Jungian analysis to this day, especially in regards to interpreting the psychological meaning of dreams.

We value reality around here.
Better than Freud and Lacan that's for sure so I'd say like 8/10.

Is the implication here there is more concrete validation for psychology compared to mysticism?

>People tend to not like seeing psychology mixed with mysticism
But it's not psychology mixed with mysticism and you would know that if you actually read his books instead of listening to your Marxcuck professors.
I like him. I want to believe
