because brigandine uses the same construction concept and does it better.

Plate armor is more suitable for the environment and type of warfare in Western Europe. Poland uses both.

Because armoring your joints is nice.

>How come western Europe never adopted lamellar during the middle-ages?

Later Western European mail gives better protection. In fact around the 11th century the middle east started to move from lamellar to mail. By the start of the 14th century lamellar had been almost fully phased out in the middle east. Same thing happened later on in India, China and Japan.

Mail was more labor intensive to make but gave better breathability and flexibility then lamellar. However the early designs of it had flaws that weakened its protection greatly. Those flaws were very slowly fixed over time.

Lamellar was a good over-armor, but many Europeans preferred lighter mail shirts that offered more area of protection while still being light and easy to move in, and also being extremely easy to put on and take off. Lamellar armor was also known for being very easy to move in compared to other heavy armors, but to offer the same level of protection as a mail shirt it would have to be broken into parts and put on separately in a time consuming way (see: samurai armor).

Basically lamellar armor got phased out in Europe not because it was less effective on the battlefield, but because it was less efficient and cost-effective off the battle field.

Explain how. As someone earlier said, it is basically impossible to protect your joints with it, so it will never offer the same protection as mail.

Also
>many Europeans preferred lighter mail shirts
Mails are heavy.
>Lamellar armor was also known for being very easy to move in compared to other heavy armors
What other heavy armors? And why was easier to move in in?
I'm starting to think, that you are basing your knowledge on some video game.
Aaaand i checked DnD 3.5 wiki. Indeed, lamellar armour has higer max. dex bonus compared to other "medium" and heavy armours.

This, the middle ages lasted a fucking 1000 years and there is plenty examples of European lamellar armor.
