A title "Vicarius Fili Dei" was used of the pope first in the fraudelent Donation of Constantine, annd has often been used as a papal title since then. Changing the U to the classical Latin V, and then adding up all the letters witch are numerals, you get VICIVILIIDI = 5+1+100+1+5+1+50+1+1+500+1 = 666.

Was the reformation a good or bad thing for the Church in the long run?

Could it be seen as God rebuking the temporal greed of the Church's leaders and trying to bring them closer to his holiness by fucking their shit up via the Reformation?
