Albert Speer - Traitor? Patriot? Good friend?
I'm reading Inside the Third Reich at the moment and he seems like a pussy.

Well he did fool everyone in to believing that he knew nothing and regretted everything by going "H-Holowho?" and "GOMENASAI~!" during the trials.
So I would say he is smart, spineless, but smart.

He was a good friend

Cute.

That's the impression I'm getting from the book. It all sounds like he had a gun to his head while writing it, frequently downplaying his involvement and blaming everything on getting hypnotized by Hitler's personality. Still an interesting read so far.
He was a good friend.
Couldn't even find a ladder desu senpai.
He was a smart guy but just an architect and wasn't ready to die for National Socialism like the others. He probably came up with this assassin story just to have one when he realized the war was over.
A smart pussy basically.
Himmler on the other hand was a stupid traitor.

>Albert "Jude wer" Speer
Despise Albert Speer and all of Hitler's allies, Karl Dönitz too.
>We didn't kn-know anything, I promise!
>We have you on record making speeches against Jews and talking about teaching them a lesson, even violent rhetoric. You supported Hitler all those years knowing full well the speeches he was making, attending each one and you co-operated in the laws being made at the time. Are you seriously saying you knew nothing?
>W-we didn't know anything! I was never told! Yes, I did say those things but I was never told!
>Then why did you support Hitler?
>Erm, he was j-just so mesmorising, he was a really good speaker! Anyone could fall for his spell!

You have to admire goerring in this sense.
By 1945 he was a lazy fat greedy piece of shit. Perhaps just making the most of his situation but at least he went down for his cause.

compared to this. Look how fat that bastard is in this shot at Compiegne.
Speer was a good friend though.
He made the auditoriums so that they would hide his weight during rallies. No joke.

Why did you post a pic of josip Broz tito wearing a captured nazi uniform?
What's the best book about Nazi leadership?
Something similar to The Court of The Red Tsar.

Rosenberg's works are pretty interesting from an insider viewpoint.
>>1958491
Goebbel's diaries are good.
What Rosenberg works do you recommend?
I thought he was considered a pushover hack by Hitler who only kept him around due to loyalty.

I would prefer something written by modern historians.
I'll get to that in time.
>>1958501
way to close to the event for modern historians to do a good job imo.
Either they are totally biased like Shirer or they are coming up with some dumb thesis about Goebbels being a sociopathic narcissistic to have a unique thesis.
Nothing good but primary lit.
