I go for the music and the sense of community. I stick around for after church coffee and donuts to mingle and hopefully meet a non degenerate qt. Probably not gonna happen tho.

That's not actually religious.

I'm genuinely Christian in every sense of the word, but I grew up with a guy who was Roman Catholic purely for the culture and history. Fun guy but whenever we talked deeply about it, he seemed so hollow.

There is no Catholic aesthetic. Catholics just go with the aesthetic of the age.

Ex-Muslim here, or really secular Muslim.

I had no problems with my beliefs, but I went to school to be a scholar or Imam, and studied the Hanafi School of jurisprudence. It wasn't until then that I realized how contradictory and fucked up our political system is.

Catholics have the best aesthetics hands down though. Instead of spreading their donations to the poor, they build sick ass buildings and naked angels spitting water and shit. Very cool.

If the stories are to be believed the beauty of the churches in Byzantium are why russia ever became orthodox in the first place. It wasn't strange back in the day to be overwhelmed by the beauty and glories all built in the name of the lord.
