The Dhow was the best sailing ship and it wasnt till the early 1800s that european ship design caught up with the arabs

Meme ships from Ming China that were never intended to colonize the New World despite people's claims.

The Clipper. During the Great Whale Wars bulls would always swim away from clippers first, as they were more afraid of their superior speed and mast number than they were of common whale boats.

It's like they were trying to compensate something

>What was the greatest cargo vessel during the age of sail?
In terms of what?
In ability to move large quantities of cargo most efficiently, clippers win hands down, because they were the final and most advanced sail driven cargo vessels ever made. It's only logical that they're faster, larger and more efficient than ships built centuries earlier.

I was initially thinking of ability to most efficiently move cargo but now that you mentioned it, what was the most economical cargo vessel to construct and use during the age of sail?

>greatest cargo vessel
I'm pretty sure the largest sail powered ship ever was a clipper with like 7 masts.
