/his/ What do you think of International Studies? Is it worth it? Anyone here studying that?
I knew a chick that got a master's degree in it with the intent of getting a job at the state department. She ended up $150k in debt and waiting tables at a shitty diner on the side of the road. That was in 2009.
YMMV, and idk what you expect to do with it, but I guess you can take away from this is that jobs at the state department are hard as shit as get.

Do it with a foreign language considered to be critical by your country's foreign ministry or by private industry.

Risky, in that it's a fairly specific qualification that doesn't carry over much into other fields on its own, but if you combined it with studies in business, languages or some kind of hard skill. Hard field to crack because the positions are few and the prestige high. That said if you really want it go for it, make sure you're prepared to work hard at your studies while also getting in as much networking and experience as you can.
