Why is it that most of Africa's history has been long forgotten?
being mostly verbal probably made it worse

That's the risk of relying on oral transmission.
because it's made up
Sub-Sahara's has been, but Egypt, Lybia, Morocco etc. has a pretty well documented history.

No writing system. Oral history can only be recorded for so long, the west developed more sophisticated means of recording history far earlier than Africa so we have a much clearer picture of early western society than African society.
/thread already
This thread should be closed before /pol/ starts shiting all over it.
White colonizers destroying any tablet/scripture records to keep the overall Sub-Saharan African population from finding out about their true heirtage after they enslaved them.
But now the black man is waking up.

There is history in Africa, it may not be as grandiose as European history but no doubt significant events occurred that we are unaware of because they have been simply lost in time. Probably a fair number of wars, notable individuals and tribes have all been forgotten in time, and there is no way of ever recovering the history.

The black idiots didnt record their history, and trusting oral history is completely retarded based on the batshit crazy things africans can make up and automatically believe.

Sad that we can't discuss History on a History board. Every thread gets taken over by shit posters on other boards. The only boards that get a ton of replies are political what X right or wrong threads about religion or rulers and it's nothing but /pol/ talk.
History is about discussing the truth, not discussing what was right and what was wrong and what should have been. This board should be renamed to Political History.
it truly is a forgotten continent. sad, really.
