The advantage of the Soviet planned economy was they didn't have to become the West's bitch to build infrastructure. Free markets are successful in shitholes because you're basically whoring yourself out to Western capitalists who go to the cheapest whore.

Lenin's testimony is of dubious origins and the first mention of it is by Hruschev when he read it out at the 20th (I think) party congress, and he had plenty of political reasons to fabricate such a note.

The NEP was dumped because it became inefficient as hell. The whole point of the NEP was to build up basic industry so large scale industry could be created in turn.

A civil war would have occurred, or an inner-party war, considering Trotsky and his sect were the minority at the party congress and were scorned even during Lenin's administration. Trots cooing how Lenin would have wanted him to become the next supreme soviet are historically illiterate retards with no knowledge of context.

He would've carried out industrialization all the same as Stalin did as it was what was needed at the time, despite him shitting on Stalin for the same reasons. Would have probably caused WWII to kick off early as he was a jingoist idiot. For historical context, he wanted to invade India after the Russian civil war and install a proletariat dictatorship to cripple the brits and to gain an ally with massive manpower. Jesus fuck, that would have ended horribly.

Anyways, barring Trotskyite coups, it would have probably went on as normally and the same steps would be taken as the historical context of the soviet union remains the same, and someone else would be branded a genocidal monster, whomever is the supreme soviet at the time.
