if Arausio hadn't happened, Marius would have never gotten away with his reform which allowed him to make a huge new army out of thin air in that time of necessity, and the Marian legions were one of the most determining factors of the rise of the empire.

that battle is more impactful than any of the other famous ones save for Adrianople i guess.
