From what I understand it's a smoke screen created to justify the totalitarian system of North Korea. Not even North Koreans understand it properly and you won't get much outside of "the Kim Family is pretty cool and should rule".

So it basically takes Stalinism and says "oh yes, it should be hereditary leadership as well".
