First, we need to recognize that we are constantly evolving, everything is at a constant rate of change.

Now that is out of the way, we need to understand the power of suggestion.

The conscious mind can accept suggestion and it can reject suggestion, the subconscious mind however cannot reject suggestion. The subconscious can be filled with good information and therefore have postive results, and be filled with negative information causing suffering and negative results.

When information is repeated, we form paradigms. When we are being hammered with negative thinking, our perception reflects negative thinking. Think for example many of the content on websites like this; how often does a place like this cause you to have negative attitudes towards the world, spiritual concepts, people, groups, etc. Feeling sad because people hammer you with insults on your perfectly valid ideas, or looking at threads with these twisted perceptions; all to subliminally try to get you to think a certain way that benefits "them" and does not benefit you. What good comes out of it?

To defeat this negative thought and action pattern, we need to reinforce the mind with repetition of postive thoughts, thinks that bring good energy. Thinks like reading, excersise, quietly sitting, all can help us find better sources for more positive attitude.

>16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.

Every day we have the power to transform our inner being, even if our outward body is impermanent, our inner being has the ability to impact change for the benefit of our self and others.

Basically; the video in the OP is saying

>since we were babies we are being programmed like a computer almost

>build up patterns of thoughts can rule our actions without us consciously thinking about it

>reprogram subconscious mind to overcome opposition of negative thought patterns

In other words, we get so caught up in these reactive states that we aren't even conscious of our own reality

These "programs" are sent to us all day. When we watch the news or mTV, we are being programmed, mind controlled. If you take a teenage girl watching mTV, it is almost guaranteed her personality will reflect a character on one of the shows, and her attitude and focus in life will be on boys, sex, drugs, and drama.

It is no different with us. We watch too many YouTube videos that subliminally send us to hate one religion, before we realize it, we start meme-ing the same information all over the internet. One angry youtuber says something mean about God, everyone jumps on the wagon because the ability to discern is gone, and the reactive process to spout out that other person's idea becomes this other persons action

Were you not conditioned to think of these things as negative? Does skepticism not prevent pain?

>Things like reading, exercise, quietly sitting,

Have you not been conditioned to think of these things as positive? How do you know that everyone will benefit from reading, and what is "good" reading?

They were just examples. For example everyday someone comes online and goes "there is no meaning I'm sad" then someone else reads it, questions and gets sad because now they are confused

Good reading and sitting were examples there are plenty of other things that can be done to achieve higher states of positive reinforcement

literally objectively wrong
non-zero second derivatives exist

>there is no meaning I'm sad" then someone else reads it, questions and gets sad

That is an assumption. There are many different ways people could react to that information. Some could become angry at the poster's sadness, others could become happy someone feels as sad as they do, some could become anxious because it is a topic they wish to avoid, and yes, some will be sad. But what you are claiming is that we are simple blank slates who regurgitate information with no change.

It was a generalized statement. There are threads that try to sway people with negative thinking, which the subconscious reacts to that information without being aware.

>which the subconscious reacts to that information without being aware.

Is not the sub-conscious deeply personal and influenced and shaped greatly by the events of an individual since their youth? Is it not a stretch to assume that it builds upon itself and that one with already "good" and "bad" data as you defined them? That it will be more reactive to certain data based on its experience? In this case, the small thing they have read would only be indicative of a larger problem with their overall lives.

While i appreciate the little schematic image for 5 year olds, i'll suggest that you go to a board more open to brainwashing. Try with /pol/.
