Aggressive bullies who expanded their power by enslaving their weaker neighbors. So basically just like every historical empire.
Their biggest mistake was starting a war with the US.
Things seemed to be going well but there were serious political and economic problems that bubbled to the surface after the great depression.
I like the fact that they made a deal with pro-Ottoman sympathizers to create a Turkic state in eastern China which angered the Ataturk government.

Not really, since relations didn't start until the end of the 19th century and during WW1 they fought on opposite sides.
Our greatest moment as allies was when one of our ships sunk outside the coast of Japan and they saved our sailors to ship them home.
