Used to rule the Steppes all the way from Romania to Central Asia but they got BTFO by the Mongols. The survivors then went to live in Hungary where they assimilated, but people of a certain region there are still called Cumans. Some of them went to the Middle east to become mercenaries. Many of the original Mamluks in Egypt were Cumans.
