Why was usury historically considered a sin? When and why did it become acceptable?
It was sinful because it was main activity of Jews.

>why
Since the debt was on a person, rather than an item of property. A person who was unable to repay their debt was forever enslaved to the debtor.
>when
The Reformation, perhaps not immediately, for Protestant countries. To my understanding the Catholic Church just stopped talking about it in the 19th century. In most other societies I think the stigma was lost with Westernization.

No, it was the activity of Jews since Jews were, by their laws, allowed to loan to gentiles.
Obviously the association with a mortal sin didn't do much to advance the Jews' regard in the eyes of their Christian neighbors.

Real christians were socialist. A lot of things Jesus said were socialist. Christians didn't like acquiring wealth through capital instead of labor.

Its slavery and thief.
>Lol bro I gave you 3 dollars
>You didnt pay me in 2 years give me 240 dollars or else!
It's not just in the Bible; it's considered sinful in Islamic texts, Hindu scriptures, Buddhist scriptures, according to Aristotle, according to Roman law, and several other cultures and civilizations.
Interest was always seen as evil (until the rise of the merchant guilds in renaissance Italy in the West) for most of history by most of the world, since the lender was essentially just making money "from money", not from enterprise, labor, or trade.

Jews were allowed to charge interest of non-Jews. And every 7 years, all debts are forgiven.

Other way around.
It was the main activity of jews and happened to be sinful.
Its not hard to see why usury would be sinful is it?
