I'm an avid reader of the Napoleonic Wars. The Siege of Badajoz is the worst stain in Britain's record in the Iberian peninsula, but this incident is glossed over and whitewashed. Even the Sharpe series doesn't address the atrocities or the aftermath of Badajoz.
