Who were the warriors who fought the best and looked good doing it?

swedish fusiliers
If I said viking would anyone be triggered?
I'm quite partial to the hoplites myself. If you ever get a chance to see some of their arms and armor in a museum its quite impressive.

What is fascinating is they had thin legs yet managed to carry such heavy shields.

What did you mean by this? You carry the weight of the shield with your arm.

>lame ass plain chainmail, boring iron cone helmet, maybe some furs, also dyed everything blue because it was the easiest dye to make
I won't be triggered I'll just call out your terrible tastes

I'm not sure what you mean, since carrying the shield requires upper body strength.
Also they were large, but they weren't as heavy as you might think. Survivng examples of the aspis are rare but the ones we do have are generally 13-14 pounds (only slightly heavier than the 12 pound roman scutum) and made of horizontal strips of poplar that were glued together like plywood then machined to its concave shape with a lathe.

You mean those things on their legs? Those are greaves, not shields
