What would an independent communist Germany had looked like?
What would happen if Luxemburg and Liebknecht had taken over in 1919, or if Ernst Thalmann had won the 1932 election?

>independent communist Germany
You mean a soviet satellite state?
>>1870563
>implying Lenin's plan wasn't to just follow whatever the Germans were doing because they were way more industrialized and developed
>>1870563
Luxemburg really fucking hated leninism tho
>>1870563
I'm really not sure about that. By most accounts, Germany in 1919 was more powerful than Russia. It had a larger industrial base and would not have had to manage such a large peasant population.

In a lot of ways she WAS a Leninist. She just believed that democracy was non-negotiable when establishing a socialist state.
History proved her very right.

Probably end up looking like East Germany in a few decades, assuming the ruthless pragmatist-types don't inevitably come into power and restore Prussian-style autocracy in the guise of "socialism in one country".

>Luxemburg and Liebknecht had taken over in 1919
The West collectively shits itself and tries to countercoup them, like they did with Hungary. It really depends on a lot of factors so there are several possible outcomes.
>Ernst Thalmann had won the 1932 election
Unless the USPD and Trotskyists somehow manage to kickstart the 4th International early, Germany becomes a Soviet satellite, the West shits itself but doesn't do anything.
France probably sends soldiers preventively to Poland I guess.
