Not really. I mean Feudalism "worked" in context from the fall of rome to the early modern period. If I was a king I wouldn't have the time or ability to travel large distances fast going from place to place to dispense high justice so why not have some other dude do it while still getting benefits? Fuedalism wasn't really an idea, it was just a natural response to the fall of the Roman Empire.

slave ownership wasn't ubiquitous in all pre-feudal states, not abolished in all capitalist states, not absent from Feudalism. Capitalism didn't compltely newly emerge after Feudalism either,
