Is not the edgy atheist fetishization of chemicals and the "meaninglessness" of life not a kind of god, too?
They're all different definitions of meaninglessness, anon

The scientific method is literally a philosophical conception developed by a philosopher (karl popper)

I'm not obsessively defensive of it. I am not really defensive of it at all, I have a confused worldview. I do not obsess over anything, I'm saying just because you are fairly nihilistic doesn't mean you have to go totally autistic about it or even feel the need to defend it publicly whatsoever.

Yeah, I know
Why do people have this idea in their heads that all spooks are a form of "religion"? Nihilism/rational understanding that people are just biological blobs does form a certain understanding of the world and has some aspects of "spookiness", but it's not a method for which someone lives their life like religion is.
My guess is that because people are rasied by religion, they assume that people who have none or leave it need some sort of replacement. There is some truth to that as well all have our spooks, but we don't all need extremely complex and demanding spooks such as religion. It may be a natural human thing to do, but it is not required.
