What is the realistic representation of the cycle of life, what is the maternal love and the optimism transmited in the painting about the survival of the German people and the beauty of the aryan race.

There's much more there than just "soft-focus socialist realism", it's also an idea and a state of mind as much as any abstract form of art.

The main difference is that the painting on the left also transmits unresolved teenage anguish and the need to outcompete your peers by being the most edgy and unique on the art classroom.

Both kind of art forms are not mutually exclusive, however, it seems like in this day and age if you like one type of art you must hate the other.
