Discrimination against Irish and Italians

Irish and Italians were never really discriminated nor lynched in mass.

Only a couple of Italians were lynched because they killed a cop, so it was justified.

They were, but not to the extent that blacks were (not even close) and it ended way too distantly for anybody to even claim any sort of compensation from it.

Also indentured servants not as bad as slaves.

It's true, the Irish were the Mexicans of the mid-19th century.

The only reason they were picked on in the first place was because whites and blacks were segregated and humans always have to have someone to pick on. So white chose the ones in their communties who had the most differences(Irish and Italians were a prodominatly catholic group in a protestant country).

Yes. This typically occurred through discrimination in the workplace (passing on Italians and Irish to English Protestants for jobs), increased police monitoring and the lack of access to higher education for many Italians and Irish.

Many places of work flat out refused to hire either and many were regulated to low paying labour jobs with very little chance of social mobility.

That's a terrible fucking answer. It doesn't even begin to answer the question. All you're doing is making a vague statement about 'segregation' (as being a significant phenomenon to the North of the Mason-Dixon Line, somehow) and tacking on another vague statement about how humans like to 'pick on' each other. Shallow analysis at best.

Americans hate Mexicans and Latin Americans, but we have millions of undocumented immigrants from Latin America living in this country. Why? Because it benefits corporate interests who are interested in cheap labor.
The people in power view those beneath them as exploitable tools. They don't care about skin color. So why would they have had a problem with starving Irish families coming over from Europe in the 19th century? These people would work for practically nothing, much less than many born Americans would demand as wages.

A lot of the discrimination was against Irish women, too. Nobody wanted a violent drunk in their house alone with their with all day, but digging a canal out side of town is fine.

I don't know about the italians but a lot of Irish hate was probable from overlapping hate of the Catholics.

There was generally a lot of anti catholic discrimination, compulsory public schooling starting locally in a lot of communities specifically to try and make catholic kids protestant

It's important to remember that at the time very few Irish people spoke English and by European-American standards they dressed very oddly, so they stood out
